Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is this week. The class will be going to the book fair on Tuesday and Thursday to shop. The book fair will also be open during the carnival.
School Carnival
The Avilla School Carnival is Friday, April 22nd. Third grade is taking donations for a barbecue basket that will be auctioned at the carnival. Donations will be accepted all week. Thank you in advance for your help and hope to see you on Friday at the carnival!
ISTEP
The class will be ISTEP testing on April 19, 20, 21, and 22. Please be sure to remind your child of the importance of the test and to try his/her personal best. The class will be testing first thing each morning so please be sure your child is on time for school each morning! Thank you for your help!

Pennies for Patients
The school is having a theme each day and is accepting donations for Pennies for Patients. The proceeds go towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This is a great cause! Thank you in advance for your contributions.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 23rd. I will only be meeting with parents if there are any concerns at this time. I will be sending home conference request forms this week. Please let me know if you would like to meet with me if you do not receive a request form. Thank you!
February 15 - NO SCHOOL

Tin Caps Reading Program
The Tin Caps Reading Programs is in full swing! Congratulations to just about everyone in the class for making it to first base!
IREAD
The third grade will also be taking the IREAD test in addition to ISTEP. This test will be administered the week of March 14th. I will let you know the exact dates when we get closer. Your child has also been preparing for this test!
ISTEP
The class has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming ISTEP test. The first part of the ISTEP will be administered the week of February 29th. Please try your best to have your child at school this week and to not schedule any doctor appointments if at all possible. Thank you!
Chicago Trip
A letter went home with your child on Friday in regards to the Chicago trip. The remaining cost for the trip is just $15.00 per person!! The payment is due by Thursday, March 24th.

Your child will get a Pizza Hut Book-It! certificate this week for turning in weekly reading logs during the month of January.
Unit 5 Math Test
The Unit 5 Math test was on Friday, January 28th. Your child can earn partial credit for correcting any problems that were missed. The Unit 6 Family Letter will be going home on Tuesday, February 2nd.
Tin Caps Reading Program
The class will be participating in the Tin Caps Reading Program during the month of February. Your child will earn a ticket voucher at the end of the month for turning in the reading log each week.

ISTEP
The ISTEP test is quickly approaching. Your child will be preparing for the test in the upcoming weeks. The first part of the ISTEP test will be given the first week of March. The first part is open response and your child will be asked to write out their answers and explanations.
